Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship

For the past 60 years, the Rotary Foundation has funded over 40,000 men and women from 100 nations in their studies abroad. Through the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship Program, recipients so funded by the Foundation have studied in more than 80 nations, and have acted as Rotary Ambassadors throughout their studies abroad.

The Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship program will end in 2013. Beginning in 2013-14, The Foundation will offer scholarship opportunities through disrict and global grants. This new grant structure gives Rotarians greater flexibility in sponsoring the next generation of leaders.

Rotary's programs for students and youth can change the lives of those who participate. Through these programs, young people can earn scholarships, travel on cultural exchanges, or help a community through a service project.

Founded for the purpose of furthering international understanding and relations amongst people from different geographical areas and backgrounds, scholars funded under this program will be given the responsibility of making at least ten to fifteen speeches or presentations about their home countries to members of the host nation’s Rotary Club or the public. Upon the completion the Program, the returning scholars are likewise required to present their experience abroad to the local Rotary Clubs. Additionally, scholars are also required submit progress reports to the Scholarship Coordinator, the Host Rotary District Governor, Sponsor Rotary Club and Sponsor Rotary Governor at stipulated timelines depending on the type of Scholarship awarded.
