Lompoc, CA —  August 21, 2023 — The Lompoc Rotary Club will be collecting canned goods and dry goods up until September 16th with all items to benefit the Lompoc Food Pantry. The drive is part of the Lompoc Rotary’s club participation in Celebrate Community Service Week (September 11th – 17th), which encourages members of local Rotary, Lions, Kiwanis and Optimists clubs to showcase the value of service in our communities.

Collection boxes are located at Inklings Printing Co. on 403 North G Street (open Monday – Friday, 8am to 4pm) and at South Side Coffee Co. on 105 South H Street (Open daily 6am to 2pm), and donations will also be available for a special event on Saturday, September 16th outside Grocery Outlet on 316 East Ocean Avenue from 10am to 2pm.

Good examples of foods to consider are: Canned vegetables, especially those without added salt; Fruits canned in juice, unsweetened applesauce, 100% fruit juice and dried fruit such as raisins or craisins;  Canned meats and fish, such as chicken, ham or beef, tuna, and salmon; Peanuts and peanut butter;  Whole grain, low-sugar cereals such as plain instant oatmeal, whole grain Os, and bran flakes;  Whole grain or enriched pasta and instant rice— either brown or enriched; Whole grain crackers (especially reduced-sodium) and popcorn;  Spaghetti sauce, salsa and canned beans, including baked beans; Reduced-sodium broth and soups;  Salad dressings or spreads, and condiments such as ketchup or mustard lower in fat and added sugars; and baby food is a very welcome donation.

Bring canned food to all the meeting! Rotary Volunteers needed for the September 16th booth outside Grocery Outlet!
