In a fabulous setting under a clear starry night at Giuseppe's, President Sandy Nichols handed the Rotary Club of Grover Beach gavel to new President Narlene Carter-Keenan.

Both Presidents had their families in attendance, and set a celebratory mood throughout the night, which included a David Letterman Roast of Miss Sandy and a tasty dinner of Pistachio Chicken. The warm night was enjoyed by all, even to the point of some saying it was the best Demotion Dinner ever!

Anthony Salas handled the Emcee task perfectly. After introducing Bob "David" Perrault to begin the roast, he conducted a festive party afterwards that had Club members take to the dance floor!

The Roast was most genteel and humorous, featuring Sandy in some excellent videos, including one exercising to music and singing in the car. Scott Nichols was thanked for allowing the release of an inside look into the life of our vivacious President. Lisa Evans gave the Top Ten "Sandyisms".

Sandy thanked us all for our help throughout the year. She presented Ethel Marcos with her Blue Badge, and honored Robert Robert with New Rotarian of the Year. Robert was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, and Steve Schumann also received his Paul Harris award.

Twelve members received certificates for perfect attendance for the 2010-2011 year.

While Sandy thanked her Board with the long-in-coming Board photo in a Rotary frame, new President Narlene introduced her Board and pinned Brad Evans in the annual "here's-the-President-Elect-pin" ritual.
