Steve Curry introduced Mr. Sam Bwaya and said that he had been working with him, Interact Club and other Clubs on a school science lab equipment project for over two years. He said that he and Sam met at the recent RI convention and renewed their friendship. He joined Rotary six years ago, he has served in various Club and District capacities including President of the Kampala West Club in Uganda. His classification is Auditing Services.

Mr. Bwaya started his presentation by saying thank you for making dreams real for many high school children in Uganda. He said the idea of bringing science equipment to our schools startedin Copenhagen during the RI convention that was attended by Suellen Iness as a joint project with RI. He said RI and Rotarians build bridges around the world and this project builds a bridge between children and their future. "We had children that received theory in science careers but were not able to pass the practical test for work due to lack of science equipment. That has now changed," he said. Students are now getting good jobs with their full grounding in science and it is making their dreams real.

Mr. Bwaya offered other opportunities for joint projects. Providing books in Braille for impaired vision students and developing water sources on rural school grounds. Students now have to walk almost two miles for water that is used for cooking meals for the students and the teachers.
