At a lunch meeting at the Grover Beach Station of the Five Cities Fire Authority, the Rotary Club of Grover Beach honored the men and women employed as Police Officers and Fire Personnel in our town.

Five Cities Fire Authority Chief Mike Hubert thanked the club for their support, and called the unification of the area's fire departments a success. He also noted the recent equipment upgrades to the unit, the new fire engine (#66) and the addition of a defribulator for use.

Grover Beach Police Chief (and Rotarian) Jim Copsey gratefully acknowledged the attention given to his department, and said we should all be thankful for what we do have in these times where it's easier to complain about what we don't.

The luncheon was catered by Stacked Sandwiches and its proprietors Brad and Lisa Evans, also Rotarians with our Club.
