Linda Garcia - BIO

I moved to the CentralCoast from Ventura five years ago, after years of being unhappy in corporate America. It had always been my dream to own my own restaurant. I had attended college in the field of culinary arts/ hotel restaurant management and I wanted to go for it on my own. I soon found that making money for someone else was much different than making money for me.  After only 1½ years I realized that this may not be what was intended for me in life.

     After closing my restaurant I wanted to do something completely different than I had in the past. I had gained so much experience owning a small business and I wanted to use my knowledge to help others not make the same mistakes that I had. I chose to work for The Coast News helping business by teaching them to utilize their marketing and networking opportunities.

     I had been volunteering for the Arroyo Grande Chamber of Commerce when I was approached by the Grover Beach Chamber's Board of Directors to fill their CEO vacancy. I truly enjoy helping businesses prosper, making this a perfect marriage.  I have also found that helping people gave me the greatest reward. This is also why I have become involved in Rotary.

     I live in Los Osos with my 17 year old cat "Taylor" AKA Mean Mr. Mustard, my husband Chris and our 12 year old son Skyler. We also have a 23 year old daughter Chandra who is attending Cal State Channel Islands.
