Grover Beach Police Chief

Sandy Nichols introduced Jim Copsey, former member of the Club and the Grover Beach Chief of Police. Jim told us about many of the Police Department's current and completed goals and projects. The goals and projects include the following: Secure the safety of the community; explore joint consolidation projects and share resources; establish special enforcement units; establish a partnership with the business community; provide clear and adequate training for officers and those who receive promotions; continually review and update emergency response plans; train officers on the handling of mental health clients; and many more in the works.

One of his favorites is the partnering with the USMC to carry out the Toys for Tots program which is coming up soon. He also mentioned the Child ID Kit disbursement program in concert with our Club. He spoke favorably about the Citizens Action Team, CATS, an all-volunteer community assistance program that fills in needed activities to make our city comfortable and attractive.
