Good Shepherd Sisters
I hope everyone in your club had a Happy Easter and thank you for all that you have done to try to help the Good Shepherd Sisters project. I have only heard from the woman who bought the cards. We sure would love some assistance in buying the rice field. The total is $20,000 and I have raised a few thousand already, mostly my own donation. It is a life-sustaining project as you know and will last for years and years to come. The current residents, their children, and grandchildren will benefit from the additional field.
Visitation of the many sick, isolated, aged, and disabled people in the villages is a priority. The Outreach Team provides social, medical, nutritional, educational, occupational, and financial assistance. Increasing numbers of HIV/Aids infections has led to the formation of a support group for families. Transportation to hospital and clinics is arranged for villagers as well as referral to professionals.
The importance of providing young people with choices concerning their future, led to the establishment of a sponsorship program, currently assisting 506 students to attend school and pursue further studies. Support enables students to purchase books, uniform, daily food and transportation, otherwise crippling expenses for poor families.
