A Rotary Craft Talk with Rotarian Greg Steinberger

The Rotary Club of Grover Beach-Five Cities welcomes its own member Rotarian Greg Steinberger to present as one of our two special "double-feature" Craft Talks today with a special Veterans Day focus. Craft Talks are dedicated to fostering deeper connections among club members by providing a platform for Rotarians to share their personal and professional stories. Craft Talks are an opportunity for members to introduce themselves, highlight their career journeys, personal passions, and community involvement, and strengthen the bonds of fellowship within the club. The club looks forward to learning more about Greg.

Greg served as Naval Flight Officer from 1986–94. after graduating from ROTC at the University of Wisconsin. He was trained as a Tactical Officer and Mission Commander on the P-3 Orion, a submarine hunting aircraft. During deployments in the Pacific, he located and tracked Soviet ballistic missile submarines during the final stages of the Cold War. Greg likes to think that when Reagan told Gorbachev about his tactical prowess at tracking subs, Gorbachev realized they could not win and dissolved the Soviet empire. Addition to Greg's miiltary service, he's been an entrepreneur, small business owner, and more.
