State Senator Grove’s goal for the drive in the Indian Wells Valley was to collect 200 backpacks on behalf of the local CAPK office who would fill them with back-to-school supplies and distribute them to students in need.
The Rotary Club of China Lake donated a total of 49 packs to this effort; in effect a quarter of the target goal! Judging from the smiles on the faces of the first four recipients, the backpack drive was a great success. Well done to all those who donated, Rotarians and others, working together to bring joy to the lives of children!
