Friday evening saw the transfer of the Club Presidency from David Saint-Amand to Ricca Charlon. It was a festive Murray-the-Silky-Terrier themed affair with dog treats and toys, human snacks served in Murray-sized dog bowls, custom wine bottles, and themed beverages available from the bar.

The ceremony kicked off with Julia Morse reading a letter ‘written’ by Murray recounting his year with his human David.

Then followed a brief speech by the out-going President Saint-Amand who said: “I could not be prouder of this club and her members for all of their efforts that made this year such a success. I have every confidence that we will have an even better year under Ricca’s leadership.”
Ricca Charlon then took the podium and spoke about the year ahead, saying “I am honored to be your Club President. I look forward to hearing your new ideas for projects and programs and we’ll do everything possible to make them happen.” She also gave an emotional ‘Thank you’ to Kim Metcalf for seeing something in Ricca that would make her a great fit in Rotary, and for then sponsoring her into the club. “It gave me a feeling of belonging and purpose. Thank you, Kim.”
Thank you to the organizing committee, Rose and crew for catering the delicious meal, and Kim and Mike Metcalf for the use of their Balsam Street venue!
