Wow! Where did this year go?? As I reflect on this past year as President of the Rotary Club of China Lake, the overwhelming feeling I have is gratitude.Thank you for your support, your encouragement, your friendship, and your commitment to our club and our community. Serving as your president has been one of the greatest honors of my life, and I could not have done it without each and every one of you.
One of my goals this year was to take Rotary on what I jokingly called my "Rotary Tour" around Ridgecrest. I wanted to get our name out into the community, remind people who we are, and showcase the incredible work our club does. Whether it was participating in the Christmas Parade, attending the Economic Outlook Conference, or representing Rotary at community events throughout the year, every stop on that tour was an opportunity to share our story and strengthen our connection with the people we serve.
What I found along the way is something many of us already know: Rotary's reputation is strong because of the people in this club. When people hear the name Rotary, they think of service, integrity, generosity, and leadership. They think of individuals who consistently step forward to make our community better.
Since joining Rotary has held a special place in my heart. It is far more than an organization to me. It is a family. The friendships I've built here, the support we've given one another, and the shared commitment we have to Service Above Self, makes this club truly unique. Through celebrations, challenges, projects, and community events, we have stood together and accomplished great things.
I am incredibly proud of what we've achieved this year, but even more proud of the people who made it happen. Every volunteer hour, every fundraiser, every project, and every act of service reflect the dedication and character of you, our members.
As my term as president comes to a close, I do so with a full heart and tremendous confidence in the future of our club. While my title may change to Past President, my commitment to Rotary and to this community remains as strong as ever.
I look forward to continuing to serve in any capacity needed, supporting our incoming leadership, and giving back to the great community we are privileged to call home. The work of Rotary never belongs to just one person—it belongs to all of us, and I am excited to continue that journey alongside each of you.
