The Rotary Club of China Lake honored out-going Club President Cheryl Saint-Amand and welcomed incoming Club President Betty Miller.

On June 25th, 2021, the Rotary Club of China Lake held a multiple-event celebration at the home of Peter and Debbie Brown of Ridgecrest, CA. The event included the step-down ceremony for out going Club President Cheryl Saint-Amand and the Installation Ceremony of incoming Club President Betty Miller.

During the Step-Down ceremony, now Past President Cheryl was thanked for her year of service as President, wherein the speakers used project-boards cut out to appear as if they were Zoom windows, "...so as to present a format with which she might be more comfortable." Past President Cheryl then brought that portion of the evening's activities to a conclusion with a brief speech, after which she presented each member of the outgoing Board of Directors with a gift as token of her appreciation for their service.

The next order of business was to swear in President Miller and her Board of Directors.
The evening also included the Club's Annual Paul Harris Fellow Celebration, hosted by Rotarian, and Club R.I. Foundation Director Steve Goad.

A Paul Harris Fellowship is named after the Founder of Rotary International, and represents a donation of $1,000 or more to the Rotary International Foundation Annual Programs Fund, PolioPlus, or the Humanitarian Grants Program. A number of these Fellowships were awarded to both Club Members and non-members, and once again the Rotary Club of China Lake is a 100% Paul Harris Fellow Club. While Rotary International recognizes this status only once in a Club's history, the Rotary Club of China Lake has been a 100% Club every year since the inception of that recognition. Few, if any clubs can make that claim.
Other events added into the festivities included the annual report to the Club from the Rotary Club of China Lake Charitable Foundation, and the official adoption of the Club budget and changes to the Club By-laws and Resolutions. While all these events would normally be spread out over the course of a Rotary Year, they were combined this year into one event as a result of the COVID-19 restrictions on meeting in person.
