Still roaming the vast country side of the United States, Chris and Gina Noble came across another example of Rotary Doing Good in the World.
Today it’s the Rotary Railroad Park in Sheridan, Wyoming. Pictured is #5631, “The 0-5 Northern Steam Locomotive,” beautifully maintained and displayed long after its retirement from active service.

Originally intended to be scrapped, #5631 was saved by Dr. Otto Docekal, a retired railroad paymaster and Rotarian, who used his relationships with company executives “to advocate for its acquisition.” Thus was the Rotary Park created!

Rotary, preserving the past for the future while beautifying the present.
