On Saturday the 14th, Interactors from the Immanuel Christian and Burroughs High Schools, their parents, and their Club Advisors drove to Irwindale, California, for the 4:00PM to 8:00PM Rotary International (R.I.) float decoration shift.

The 4:00PM shift is a new offering this year, and a much better fit for the local Interactors, many of whom wished to participate in Ridgecrest’s annual Christmas Parade held earlier that day. On top of that, this new shift avoids the necessity of leaving town at 5:00AM in order to meet the normal 8:00AM shift start time.
R.I. Float decorating is an annual event. Our Youth Services Director Cheryl Saint-Amand serves on the official Float Committee and would like to thank everyone involved in decorating the float for their Service Above Self. “Your efforts are doing good in the world by helping to get the word out about Rotary, and by adding even more beauty to the Rose Parade, a New Year’s Day event watched world-wide.”
Cheryl has arranged for a second decoration event for Club members for December 30th, the day the perishable flowers are applied to the floats. This will be for the 8:00AM to 4:00PM shift. If you would like to participate, contact Cheryl and make your firm and final commitment to attend by this coming Friday. If there aren’t enough Rotarian volunteers, she has to find other people to fill our allotted billets.
