Last Monday night was the first annual Bowling for Boxes. Bowling teams of Rotarians and friends turned out to support a wonderful cause: raising money for ShelterBox, a Charity Navigator Four-Star charitable foundation whose mission is to “build awareness of global displacement and provide families with lifesaving shelter and essential tools, and supplies that will enable them to rebuild their homes and transform their lives after disaster.”
The Team Spirit Award went to the Mobowlizers from the Ridgecrest Regional Hospital, led by Satellite Club member Jessi Wetzel.
Best Team Score went to Bowlers for Boxes, lead by Club President Ricca Charlon.
Highest Game award went to Kayden Dukes, a member of Team AltaOne, led by Daniel Laqunez.

The final accounting is still underway, but it appears that this new club event raised $2,000. President Elect Jill Bradford, currently our International Director, led the effort; creating, organizing, and running the event.
Thank you to Jill and to all those who turned out to have a great time for a worthy cause!
