Calling all Camarillo high school Juniors!
The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards for District 5240 - "RYLA" - will be held in May 2025 and the nominations to attend are getting underway! Are you interested in attending this leadership camp experience? Let our Club know! We select two students to attend every year.
August meeting: Camarillo Police Department's Project Hope
 
Deputy Jason Havelka gave a presentation on Camarillo law enforcement's Project Hope program, which connects the unhoused in our city to the public services available to them. He graciously stayed afterward to answer the many questions our members wanted to ask!

Our 2024 Golf Tournament raised $75,500 for kidSTREAM, bringing the Rotary Club of Camarillo Sunrise's total support to date up to $250,000!

Our Sunrise Rotary crew had fun supporting the "noontime" Camarillo Rotary Club's annual enchilada dinner fundraiser benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo!
It was the public debut of 10-day-old Ellie, granddaughter
of Sunrise Rotarian Dave Tennessen, and we are already excited to host her at the 2040 Youth Empowerment Summit.  :)

Daniel Schoenewald hosted the entire Club at his home for a lovely sunset dinner celebrating Michael Shanklin's year as our Club President. We welcomed Jonathan Chase as our incoming Club President for 2023-2024, and celebrated Dustin Long's award of a Paul Harris Fellow! Laughs were plenty during Michael's distribution of awards, which included such designations as "Most Likely to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse."

A one-day workshop for Juniors in high school. Students arrive early in the morning – strangers mostly – and by the end of the day they are filled with one-of-a-kind experiences, have met lifelong friends, and have learned a little more about themselves and their potential to make a difference in their world.
