Credibility and Transparency in Today's News Media

Kirstie Hettinga will address the role of media literacy in today's society, the phenomenon of fake news, and how to judge the credibility of media sources. Her research addresses issues of credibility and transparency in news media. Kirstie is an assistant professor of communication at California Lutheran University and teaches courses in media writing and editing and serves as the faculty adviser to Cal Lutheran’s student newspaper, The Echo.
