In 1971, the Camarillo Rotary Club started its annual “Viva La Comida” dinner. Chuck Welch, club president in 1970-71, along with Mike Loza, then owner of El Tecolote restaurant, began the dinner to help raise funds for the Boys Club of Camarillo. A Monday night was originally chosen for the event because Mike’s restaurant was closed on Mondays, allowing him and his staff to work with club members in preparing the food.

Since 1971, more than 35,000 meals have been served at Viva La Comida. In addition to the Boys & Girls Club of Camarillo, this year's event will benefit other community nonprofit organizations through the Camarillo Rotary Foundation.

Come join us on January 28th for delicious food, mariachi music, magicians and more! Tickets are available at the door ($15 ea.) or from any member of the Rotary Club of Camarillo.
