KEY HIGHLIGHTS FROM JUNE 2ND PROGRAM
  • Chris Hunsiker, Ford Motor Company – “Moving from Passive to Active Engagement”
  • Over the last 10 years billions of dollars have been spent on researching and improving employee engagement within organizations, and during those 10 years employee engagement got worse.
  • The biggest aspect of employee engagement is to ask your employees “active” questions instead of “passive” questions.
  • The “Big 6” Engagement questions are:
  1. Did I do my best to set clear goals today?
  2. Did I do my best to make progress towards my goals today?
  3. Did I do my best to find meaning today?
  4. Did I do my best to be happy today?
  5. Did I do my best to build positive relationships today?
  6. Did I do my best to be fully engaged today?
  • It’s more typical than not for people to have great self-control but no self-discipline, or vice-versa.
  • The definition of “self-control” is the ability to do things that are hard to do (ex: exercising).
  • The definition of “self-discipline” is the ability to keep yourself from doing hard things (ex: cursing)
