7th Annual Arroyo Grande Rotary Club Community Christmas & Holiday Sing-Along set for December 21st
Special Show at the Clark Center will be entitled “A Dickens of a Christmas"
Community Performing Arts Groups to be Featured & Audience Members to Join in the Fun! 

The Arroyo Grande Rotary Club will sponsor its 7th Annual Christmas and Holiday Concert and Sing-Along on Sunday, December 21st.  This special 4:00pm matinee is entitled “A Dickens of a Christmas" and will be presented at Arroyo Grande’s intimate Clark Center.  Attendees will be able to enjoy area performing groups and join their family and friends in singing their favorite Christmas and holiday songs.  Tickets for the Sing-Along are now available from the Clark Center Box Office.  Net proceeds from this event will be donated to the music and arts programs of various South County schools.  Funds from the 2011 Sing-Along purchased a new video camera for the AG High School Photography Department and will support special music education programs at St. Patrick School and Mesa Middle School.  
 
This December’s show is entitled “A Dickens of a Christmas” and will offer the exciting musical and theatrical experience of meeting Scrooge and seeing how he contends with the Ghosts of Christmas past!  This charming show will feature the Village Carolers from Studio Sing, Sing, Sing along the Grande Bell Ringers from the Arroyo Grande United Methodist Church, the Mesa Middle School 7th Grade Band, Nipomo High School Drama Students (GCP and Posse), jazz guitarist Dave Wilson and the DPAC Dance Rookies.

The program concept and talent for the Christmas and Holiday Sing-Along is being organized by Judith Dunlore, Director of the Village Carolers and Studio Sing, Sing, Sing.  Judith will act as Master of Ceremonies and will also direct the Community Sing-Along portions of the show.  The Grande Bell Ringers under the direction of Leonard Lutz return for their fourth appearance at the Sing-Along and will perform throughout the show.  
Scrooge will be portrayed by Mike Mesker and the Ghost of Christmas Past by Taylor Peters.  The show’s pianist will be Dave Alm and the lyric projectionist will be George Lepper.  

Audience Sing-Alongs will include “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” “Silent Night,” “The First Noel” and “Frosty the Snowman.”  The big crowd pleaser is the traditional singing of “The Twelve Days of Christmas”which always thrills audience members.  A post show lobby reception will feature complimentary sweets and drinks, the sharing of festive costumes and Santa Claus for the kids.

KCOY 12 and FOX 11 are again the concert’s exclusive television media partners.  The Coast News and its parent company Tolosa Press return as the event’s newspaper sponsor.  Santa Maria’s KSMX is the show’s radio sponsor.  Post show treats will be provided by Doc Burnstein’s Ice Cream Lab and the Avila Valley Barn.
