Thursday, August 11, Salem Creekside Rotarians helped ALS-K Auxiliary with their Operation Backpack drive. Operation Backpack serves 36 Title One Schools in the Salem Keizer school district. These include elementary, middle and high school as well as two special programs: Early College and Roberts High School. ALS-K Auxiliary's Operation Backpack originated in 1995. It is the only all year program that donates items specifically requested by school staff throughout the year, everything from glue sticks, scissors, crayons colored pencils, markers, folder pencil bags, ruler, eraser, backpacks, binders and the list goes on and on. During the pandemic when students were online, Operation Backpack donated headsets (to eliminate background) as well as dry eraser boards and markers. We believe in the all-volunteer program and would like to invite you to join us as we support this great organization.
