The Rotary Club of Salem-Creekside, as part of their COVID-19 Assistance Program, takes immediate action to help local restaurants and hard working service personnel throughout the Salem-Keizer area. Members, to support restaurants, purchased hundreds of gift certificates and distributed them to our neighbors who are working on the front lines ensuring that we have all the essentials to run our daily lives. “Dear Members of Creekside Rotary, Thank you for your generosity in recognizing the efforts of members of the community who are 'Front Line' Workers and Volunteers. I know your retaurant gift certificates will be very much appreciated by all who recieve them as well as the businesses they support. Thank you, as well, for your on going support of the community and all you do on our behalf. Best regards," Leah Olor, Activity Director, Emerald Point Senior Living.
Even in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, Salem-Creekside Rotary finds a way to connect with those in need. A unique Club known for their belief in “Service Above Self” with hands on projects. “We are here to help. As the needs in our community vacillate, so do our service programs” said President Maria Mokrai. To support local restaurants, Salem-Creekside Rotary purchased gift certificates from local restaurants and distributed them to hard working service personnel throughout Salem-Keizer : mail carriers, gas attendants, grocery clerks, care givers, dental hygienists, etc., those on the front lines. Salem-Creekside Rotary’s COVID-19 Assistance Program is now almost complete. “We wanted to say thank you, we appreciate your service and lunch is on us,” said Rotarian Mark Hodgins. “They are so very grateful.”
