Last week, two of our newest members gave Classification Talks. Luke Emerson and Hannah Sladek. Luke and his family moved here nine months ago. Luke is the pastor of Elim Lutheran Church. Hannah is the Director of Development for the American Cancer Society. Hannah and her husband bought their first house in October in Lake Stevens.
Luke has been married for 26 years and has two children. Their son is 22 and daughter is 12. Luke has an Accounting Degree and a Masters Degree in Divinity. He started Divinity School at age 38. He previously worked for Berkeshire Hathaway where he oversaw the companies owned by Warren Buffett, making recommendation regarding under performers. Luke joined our Club because of the spirit in the room. No negativity. Hobbies are golf, fishing and he played quarterback in high school.
Hannah grew up in Bozeman, Montana and is often called, Hannah Montana! Hannah's family did lots of camping. Her sister started a swim team and Hannah spent 14 years as a swimmer. She went to the University of Northern Colorado. Her parents were able to attend all of her swim competition events over all of those years. Met her husband through an on-line dating service. He was the second and last date. They got married in July 2017, lived in Shoreline before relocating to Lake Stevens. Bought a golden retriever. They love hiking with their dog Rosie. She works for the American Cancer Society and is in her third year doing the Hope Gala for the American Cancer Society.
