New Meeting Format

At the Club Assembly March 15th, President-Elect Jim Kelley presented the membership with a new meeting schedule that the BOARD discussed and agreed to move ahead with at last Wednesday's Board meeting. The Club will begin meeting on the 3rd Thursday instead of the 3rd Friday. The 3rd Friday meeting will be used by the Board for its monthly meeting. Everyone is welcomed to attend the Board meeting which can be used as a make up as well but is not mandatory. Finally, in months where there are five Fridays (4 times per year and starting in August), the Club will forego meeting on the 5th Friday in lieu of an organized fellowship activity hopefully within the two weeks surrounding that 5th Friday. This could be a Fireside, a picnic in the park, a sporting event or anything elese the club decides. The intent is for the activity is to be family-friendly event.
We haven't targeted a location for our first 3rd Thursday meeting just yet but will let our members know shortly. The purpose of the change is to address those prospective members and current Club members who would like to have more flexability in our Club meetings. The 3rd Thursday events will be purely social and a chance to get better acquainted. Several members have guests already lined up for the first meeting. We look forward to using this new format as a way of introducing prospective members to the benefits of our Club and Rotary in general.
