Montericco Clinic Report
Hello Rotary Club of Lake Stevens International Service Committee, 2012 and earlier, President and Past Presidents, and Friends,
Just two years ago this month, on a very hot Guatemalan Saturday morning, the villagers in a special Pacific coast community were aglow with gratitude and hope as the Monterrico Community Clinic and Education Center was dedicated. The journey to this day was not without its challenges. In true Rotary spirit, and with the leadership and courage of the Little Engine That Could aka Rotary Club of Lake Stevens, dreams became real. What a Rotary collaboration of three countries, four Districts, nine Clubs, and twelve other major supporters from Guatemala, Canada, the USA and Ireland!
Many thanks to the Lake Stevens international service committee members who stayed the course through both rough and smooth waters, to the Club Board of Directors and Presidents who steadfastly passed the dream from one term to the next, to the members who so generously supported the commitment and the fund-raising, to Rotary Club of Vista Hermosa and especially Julio Grazioso, to David Alvarez and CCCG, and to Ann Anderst and Healing the Children.
David Alvarez has passed this message and updated photos in celebration of the second Anniversary of the Monterrico Community Clinic and Education Center.
With appreciation for all you achieved,
Barb Knowles
