Our guest speaker on Friday, April 18th was Antionette Morales-Tanner, Manager of the Lake Stevens Library. Antionette started her presentation about current programs being offered at the library. Programs include Beyond Books, Guide Star and Library Programs for Fun as well as Arts and Crafts all offered by the Sno-Isle Library system. So much to offer including partnering with the Alzheimer and dementia organizations to create nine memory kits for caregivers so that they can work with patients. Kits will launch in May at the Lake Stevens Library.
Antionette updated us on the construction of a new library on Chapel Hill. Road work is underway with opening of the new expanded library set for 2026. Pictured above are the plans for the new library. The current library is 2,500 sq. ft. and the expansion will offer 15,000 sq. ft. of space. The library will consist of two stories with an elevator available. The first floor will be dedicated to children and there will be a large community room downstairs with a compacity of 230 people. The second floor will consist of a business center with printers available with three study rooms. Native plants will be put in the wetlands area. The project started in January and will take 15-18 months to complete.
