This week is a Club Assembly with a focus on the Committees of our Club. There are four standing committees: Club Service, Community Service, International Service, and Vocational Service. Under these are specific sub-committees. Then we have yearly committees: Aquafest and Corks & Kegs. All are designed to help support the great work that we do in our Community. The question is What Committee or Committees are you serving on?

Welcome to our newest member, Keith Partington. Keith and his wife Alisa are life long residents of Lake Stevens. Make sure you introduce yourself to them. The Membership Directory has been updated. Get your copy from your My ClubRunner box on your Admin page on our Club website.

Real Estate Trends

Real Estate Trends by our Treasurer, Chris Vallo was the topic for Friday, December 7th meeting.

Chris shared his perspective on the current trends in the real estate market. Is the housing market slowing down? Most of the homes that are selling are in the $250,000 to $400,000. Trulia Housing Market trends shows house going at about $250 per square foot.

Jobs/Advantage: Snohomish County advantage revolves around a technical workforce, two research universities, STEM Network to raise technical training at the K-12 level. 20% of the workforce is in manufacturing. Significant aerospace and life science (medical devices and biotech) clusters in the area. Lowest electricity costs in the Nation. Two commercial airports in the area with Sea-Tac and Paine Field. The advantage of the Port of Everett deep water port and no corporate or personal income tax.

Chris reviewed the economic indicators of Snohomish County. Developers are still developing land in Snohomish County. Builders are still building homes. Take a look around our City and off Soper Hill road as examples of new homes being built right now.

Board Meeting

Our regular Rotary Club Meetings are at the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center lower level Community Room located at 12309 22nd St NE. We start at 7:30 am. There is a robust continental breakfast available beforehand. Visitors are always welcome.
