Real Estate Trends by our Treasurer, Chris Vallo was the topic for Friday, December 7th meeting.
Chris shared his perspective on the current trends in the real estate market. Is the housing market slowing down? Most of the homes that are selling are in the $250,000 to $400,000. Trulia Housing Market trends shows house going at about $250 per square foot.
 
Jobs/Advantage: Snohomish County advantage revolves around a technical workforce, two research universities, STEM Network to raise technical training at the K-12 level. 20% of the workforce is in manufacturing. Significant aerospace and life science (medical devices and biotech) clusters in the area. Lowest electricity costs in the Nation. Two commercial airports in the area with Sea-Tac and Paine Field. The advantage of the Port of Everett deep water port and no corporate or personal income tax.
 
Chris reviewed the economic indicators of Snohomish County. Developers are still developing land in Snohomish County. Builders are still building homes. Take a look around our City and off Soper Hill road as examples of new homes being built right now.
