This week we return to our usual meeting location, the Lake Stevens School District Educational Service Center. A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who helped at AQUAFEST! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year so it was important to have everyone selling tickets and as many as could be working during the event weekend. Despite the rain, everyone was having a great time. There will be an opportunity to share your thoughts about how this year's event went. It may not be at this week's meeting however. Time and a place for everything.

Congratulations to the 2015 Duck Dash Winners! Even with a sudden rain squall during Sunday afternoon the ducks were not able to use the Lake's outflow creek into downtown so alternative arrangements were made to ensure the randomness of this year's raffle. 2015-2016 Rotary Club of Lake Stevens President Bill Demeroutis had four random people who did not buys tickets stir up the ducks in a front end loader and randomly pull one duck each out of the pile.
We thank everyone who sponsored our Duck Dash program this year including those that donated the prize money. We thank everyone who purchased tickets. All of the ticket sales go towards the various programs that we do and support locally, regionally and internationally. These include Cub Scout Pack 88, Lake Stevens Food Bank, Lake Stevens Family Center, Lake Stevens Senior Center, Adopt-A-Street, North Cove Park, Born to Learn Trails in North Cove Park and Lake Stevens Community Park, Dolly Parton Imagination Library, Monterrico (Guatemala) Community Clinic & Educational Center, Polio Plus and Scholarships to graduating Lake Stevens High School Seniors.
This year's winners are: Judi Edwards $2,000, Cliff Crowley $500, Robert Howarth $250, Marc Baker $100. Congratulations!
It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of Gordon Bjorg, Sr., owner of Roy Robinson Chevrolet, Subaru and RV's of Marysville, WA. Gordy was a resident of Lake Stevens and enthusiastically supported our Duck Dash program for years. We appreciate the support he and his company have shown the Lake Stevens Community. He will be missed. Rest In Peace.
Congratulations to Jim & Dawn Steinruck on the birth of their newest grandchild, Griffin James Nygard, born July 21st. 9 lbs, 4 oz, 21" tall. Parents are Tim and Alicia. All are doing well. Jim, the Club's Membership Chair, reports that he has Griffin's Rotary membership application already filed out.
National Night Out is fast approaching. Tuesday evening, August 4th in downtown Lake Stevens. Our Club is providing the popcorn. We still need a few folks to help out with our booth.
