Our local firefighters are responsible for protecting our lives and property when in danger or harms way. Plus, the Lake Stevens Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3025 is deeply involved in Operation Warm and giving back to the community. What is Operation Warm? Founded nationally in 1998, Operation Warm works directly with a manufacturer in Corbin, KY to create a line of high-quality, colorful USA made winter coats made just for kids! Nationally, their mission/goal is simple, "to provide new winter coats to children in need." In 2016, the Lake Stevens Professional Firefighters, IAFF Local 3025, provided the gift of warmth to 42 local children. In 2017, they almost doubled their impact. In 2018 they look to build on that result. In the United States, Firefighter organizations that partner with Operation Warm have served over 250,000 children nationwide, held thousands of coat giving events, supported over 400 jobs for Americans and these firefighters both locally and nationwide have gone above and beyond the call of duty to serve their communities. To raise funds for Operation Warm two auctions are being held with one expiring today, 9/11. The other auction started on August 28th and ends on September 20th. That auction includes two tickets for the September 23 & 24th Mariners games against the Cleveland Indians with parking passes for each game.
