This Week's Meeting
Besides some Club Business at this week's meeting, we will hear from our newest member, Brain Rewis, as he gives his Classification Talk! He will share a bit about his background, work and why he joined Rotary.

Planning is underway for the development of an adjunct or cohort type Rotary group in our community that would reach different folks then one might think would be part of Rotary. As the Team working on this develops ideas and plans, we will keep you posted. If you have suggestions about when and where to potentially meet or who we should be talking to about this, let us know!

The link to our Youtube Channel is now available on our website and our weekly bulletins. You can view recent online meetings. If you watch any of them, you can count it as a makeup. Just let our Secretary, Gary O'Rielly know.

Continue to live by and exemplify the Rotary Four Way Test-

Is it the Truth?
Is it Fair to All Concerned?
Will it Build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
Will it Be Beneficial to all Concerned?

Gary Carrier - Plataforma, A Social Enterprise
Our speaker for our regular meeting on Friday, April 23rd is a friend of Kyle Strand. The information below was provided by Kyle. This is an absolutely amazing story regarding a social enterprise endeavor that is paying huge rewards in Brazil. The meeting was recorded and can be seen on our Club YouTube channel.

Gary Carrier is from Marysville, Washington where he grew up on the Tulalip Indian Reservation. He was a wrestler and a football player. After graduation, Gary attended the University of Washington where he majored in Political Science. During his junior year of college he studied abroad and visited 15 countries in one year. After graduating from the University of Washington, Gary bought a one way ticket to Guadalajara, Mexico. This ended up being a three year journey for Gary. He taught English to make ends meet, worked for Habitat for Humanity to continue to give back which ultimately let Gary to attend UC Berkeley to study Social Impact Investing based on his experiences in Latin America.

Today, Gary Carrier is on a mission to democratize opportunity through technology. Founder of Plataforma, a social enterprise that's closing the digital skills gap with high potential youth from favelas. He has experience in 25+ countries as a student, analyst, professor, manager, founder and speaker. Gary is fascinated by the global, untapped human potential that exists in marginalized communities. He is Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt competitor, girl dad, speaker and advisor.
