Amazing Annual Installation Banquet
The Annual Rotary Viking Banquet got under way on Sunday, June 26th at the Lake Stevens Senior Center. President Reshal Ploeger decked out in her Rotary Viking attire.

President Reshal outlined the many successful activities during the 2021-22 Rotary Club of Lake Stevens year. From hosting a bowl painting party in support of the Food Bank and cross pollinated with the Greater Lake Stevens Chamber of Commerce's Lights of Lake Stevens event. We brought in the Lake Stevens Education Foundation to host a Sleigh Stop. The Rotarians In Action Committee spent endless hours at Haggen's collecting food for the Food Bank.

We joined the Rotary Club of Arlington in a tree planting project in celebration of Earth Day. The Vocational Services Committee was layered with various youth committees and renamed the committee, the Youth Services Committee. We added several younger members to the organization during 2021-22. We sent an amazing Interactor to the District's YAIL Conference. Internationally, our funds have been invested in Rotary's IPA project in Honduras.

Our Interact Club rocked it with over 1,300 hours of community service led by a great President. We hosted Game Night and an Ugly Sweater Holiday Contest. At Highland Elementary, we installed an interactive walkway or as Reshal dubbed it, a Wiggle Walk. The highlight of any year is spending time with our fellow Rotarians. Roadsides clean ups, Adopt a Park (Rotary Skate Park) for clean up as well as purchasing three bleachers for families to watch their children at play. We initiated contact with the American Red Cross and our first Blood Drive will be in August.

Finally, we awarded scholarships to seven college and vocational school bound students to the tune of $26,500. And, in an earlier article donated $16,000 to various local non-profits serving our community.

A nicely decorated table, Viking costumes galore some with sword in hand. Great celebration. Thank you Reshal for putting this all together. You are awesome.
Annual Meeting Member Awards
The incoming board received the oath of office from Dave Duskin, District Governor Nominee Designate followed by the passing of the gavel from outgoing President Reshal Ploeger to incoming President Chris Vallo.

Paul Harris awards were given out by Jim Haugen, Foundation Chair and Dave Duskin to several Club Members.

Another highlight of the Annual Installation Banquet is the Presidential awards announced by President Reshal Ploeger.

Award to Rotarian Citizen of the Year
After a warm introduction and welcome by James Monroe, we were honored to present Christine Egelstad with her special 2020-2021 Rotarian Citizen of the Year plaque by President Reshal Ploeger. Christine was selected in September 2021 due to her dedication to her business, the community and always being willing to help. Congratulations Christine on a well-deserved award!
Supporting the Community
At the end of each Rotary year, the last meeting is dedicated to donating funds from our Lake Stevens Rotary Charitable Foundation to local non-profits. Pictured above are representatives of the Lake Stevens Education Foundation, the Lake Stevens Senior Center, Interfaith Family Shelter, the Everett Family YMCA and the Lake Stevens Health & Wellness Festival. Unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts was Bridge Receiving and the Run for your Life Foundation.

Applications were submitted to the Club and reviewed by several members. Donations can be submitted on a Donation/Support Request Form around April of 2023. The forms can be found on the Club website.
