Karen Beaudry, Career Service Manager, University of Washington, Computational Finance and Risk Management, was our guest speaker at our meeting on Friday, November 15th. Karen is a Harvard graduate and was captain of the Harvard Track Team. Now Karen is an avid tennis player.
Computational Finance and Risk Management encompasses advanced mathematics, probability, statistics, modeling and programming to meet the complex needs of the financial marketplace. The program started at UW in 2011 by Professor Doug Martin and Professor Tim Leung came to UW in 2016 and is the current director of the program. Currently, the program includes 26 women and 17 men with a 3.64 avg GPA. Six students will graduate in December.
