A Unity Pole was recently on display at Lundeen Park. The purpose of the Pole is to show people how connected we really are. There are 32 outer poles each with a description of what category an individual identifies with. Be it gender, faith, family, faith, work, politics, etc. Individuals were then to take a length of yarn, start at the center pole and run the yarn around each pole that they identify with going back to the center each time. The 32nd pole started with "I am..." and participants were then to write on a nearby chalkboard the rest of that statement. The idea was well received in our community. Thank you Terry Bokovich for bringing this to Lake Stevens.
