Tiffany Jumper, Special Education/Transition team at the Lake Stevens School District was our special guest speaker on Friday, October 14th. Tiffany has been doing this job for the past two years. The Transition Team works with students with Special Needs. Tiffany shared various slides on the work of the Transition Team with these students. Today, they are going to the Pumpkin Patch.
The Transition Team works include Kindred Kitchen where they learn working skills on-line and many other skills and activities; another work site is the Historic Everett Theatre and Cavalero Mid-High School asked for help cleaning up after lunch hour which is a bit more challenging because of the around them, which is a good opportunity to practice their social skills. ARC Days is another monthly partner. They work with two-three job sites each week. So many other opportunities arise for students to learn their skills and Friday is always their community outreach program.
