Lake Stevens Rotary Charitable Foundation co-chairs from left Bob Howe and Pierce Roberts were are speakers on March 6th talking about the importance of The Rotary Foundation internationally and locally on projects important to each Rotary Club. The Rotary Foundation was established in 1917. The Foundation has given away over $3 billion. Both speakers talked about the importance of each of our Club members giving $100.

In 2024-25 there were 468 district grants at $29 million. 74 disaster response grants amounting to $1.9 million. 1,423 global grants at $88.2 million and 1 program of scale grants at $2 million. 8% of funds are spent on program awards and operations. Impressive!

Many of the programs important to Rotary International are Rotary Community Corps, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and Rotary Youth Exchange. Pierce commented that the reason he is here today is to make sure that the Rotary Foundation is actionable and is beneficial to Lake Stevens Rotary as well as the rest of the world.

District grants are still something that is done each year. Showing a graphic where our donations go are 50% going first to the World Fund and 50% into the District. Both speakers were dedicated to insuring that everyone of our members gives at least $100 annually, talking about examples that have positive impacts on people and communities.
