Our guest speaker on Friday, August 16th was Suzanne Schalo, Emerald City Cornhole and the American Cornhole League. During our Club's Aqua Fest Corn Hole tournament Suzanne provided assistance and ran the Corn Hole Tournament. There are two corn hole tournament pros in Washington State according to Suzanne. The season starts on October 1st and runs to the middle of July. The American Corn Hole League along with its counterpart in Canada is a growing international league. The eventual goal is to have a corn hole tournment event at the Olympics. According to Suzanne, the social aspect is a big part of her involvement. The tournament in Ventura, California will have over 1,000 teams. The event will include women's doubles, senior and super senior events and so much more. The Taste of Edmonds has a two day Corn Hole Tournament.
Suzanne will be a big part of our going forward with an annual corn hole tournament. It was one of the highlights during Aqua Fest. More to come in the future.
