The chairman of the Lake Stevens Art Commission Steve Apodaca (pictured above) accompanied by Linda Ehmen and Kathy Kruse spoke to our club last week.
The Lake Stevens Arts Commission was established in 1996 by the Lake Stevens City Council. The purpose of the Commission is to advise and recommend the selection and acquisition of public art work. Since art enriches the municipality and the quality of life for all citizens, the City encouraged the Commission to expand its work to include planning free cultural events to the benefit of ALL of the community. The Commission meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm at the Visitor's Information Center.
Steve, Linda and Kathy gave us an overview of their background, interest and the reason why they were attracted to the Commission. Steve has lived in Lake Stevens the longest but all share a passion for the arts.
