Last Friday, our members were introduced to "The Angel Pillow Project". For every pillow sold, one is donated to charity. The project was inspired by a Grandmother and Granddaughter. Laurie Glass-Goerg is also the CFO Publishing and Subscriptions of The Reel News.
The Angel Pillow Project was started out of a desire to provide a comforting gift to a friend's terminally ill mother. Our guest speaker was Laurie Glass-Goerg. Once Laurie saw how well the gift was received and how much comfort it brought to her friend's mother, she realized there had to be a lot of people from all walks of life who could benefit from an Angel Pillow and so the Angel Pillow Project was birthed with her granddaughter Hannah Goerg.
Each pillow is and made by Laurie and her Hannah with love, positive thoughts and prayers. They attach a card to each pillow which indicates that it has been blessed to bring healing, comfort and blessings to the recipient. Angel Pillows come in two sizes, (22" and 14" tall) and are fashioned out of a theme print front with a cuddly soft fleece material on the back. The stuffing is a hypo-allergenic cotton batting.
For every Angel Pillow sold, one is donated to a charity (hospice, homeless families, children's hospital wards, trauma rescue, etc). Other successful uses are for baby showers, birthdays and special events. There goal is to always bring comfort to those who are ill.
