Skate Park Planning
One of the adults asked about where the Park would be located. Teigen talked about the early favorite of Cavelero Park on 20th St SE between Cavelero Road and 70th Av SE. This is a county owned Park of over 30 acres that currently has off-lease areas for dogs. Future proposed amenities include sport court, playground and potentially ball fields. Teigen was very clear that the community would be included in providing input for the various facets of the Park. After all the Park is for the community.
As Teigen wrapped up the evening, he reminded the kids to make sure that they wear helmets and wrist guards. He anticipates that the next phase of getting Lake2Skate would be a more in-depth meeting that would include more of the Lake Stevens community to help solicit input and working with Park planners.
The Rotary thanks all of those that came to our Meeting last week. We are glad to help spearhead this project and welcome all partners. Make sure to frequently visit our website at www.lakestevensrotary.org and our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/skatelakestevens for updates on this process.
