Scouts Clean Up Centennial Trail

Our own Cub Scout Pack 88 participated in the third annual Centennial Trail Cleanup Service Project last Saturday. Ten of the Scouts from the Pack along with parents and siblings cleaned the signs and safety gates on the trail at Three Lakes Road crossing. They even cleaned the large rocks nearby!
This year the Cleanup project involved over 600 Scouts working on the entire paved trail from Snohomish to Arlington. They cut back vegetation, painted the tops of the bollards, applied stain to fence sections, washed signs, tables, benches and a variety of other minor projects. Scouts from Gold Bar, Monroe, Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Granite Falls, Marysville and Arlington participated. They worked in partnership with the Snohomish County Parks Department and the Centennial Trail Coalition.
The project has grown over the years and organizers expect even more participation next year.
