Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Scholarship Awards recipients are flanked from left to right by Past President Sam Low and Vocational Services Chairman, Dean Franz. Nine of the Eleven recipients attended the scholarship award presentation at our meeting on June 1st.
This year was a special scholarship award ceremony. There were scholarships awarded in the memory of Frank McDaniel, Washington State Trooper Sean O'Connell and Molly Conley, and one in memoriam for Gregory Matson provided by Lance and Carrie Morehouse and a scholarship by Lorna Hole. On hand during the ceremony was John Conley, father of Molly, Washington State Troopers and the McDaniel family and many family members of the award recipients.
Each year, the Rotary Club of Lake Stevens endeavors to enhance the amount of scholarship funds through our Cork & Kegs fundraiser in April and our Viking Duck Dash/AquaFest corn booth in July. Sponsorships by local businesses are another source of funding for these two major fundraisers. Congratulations to the eleven Lake Stevens High School students. Well deserved.
