RYLA Candidate

The Vocational Committee recommended sponsoring Kim Black-Ward recommended by James Monroe as our Club's RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) training program participant this coming May. Kim spoke to the Club and provided background on herself and her interests. Kim is a Senior at Lake Stevens High School and has been involved in drama club, the literary club, plays the saxophone in the concert and pep band and wind ensemble. Kim is in the Running Start program at Everett Community College. Though her studies and nusic consume much of her life, she is very passionate about the Venturing program of the Boy Scouts of America and was a recipient of the BSA Venturing Leadership Award and a Council Award of Merit. RYLA allows Kim to challenge and strengthen her communications, leadership and inter-personal skills while focused on accomplishing her future goals.

Kim is the daughter of a Rotarian and recently helped the Marysville Rotary Club with a Community Service Day in painting the I-5 overpass to remove graffiti. Congratulations Kim and we look forward to hearing from you after the RYLA Conference in May.
