Last year, our Club contribution report from July through June (2015-16) showed our total giving $7,988. Over the past few years, our club continues to increase the amount of contribution to the Rotary Foundation as reported by District 5050. According to the contribution report, District 5050 raised $396,780 to the Annual Fund. There are 57 clubs in District 5050 and 54 contributed to the Annual Fund.
Harv discussed Rotary grants including Global grants. In 1981, Rotary International established the Rotary Endowment Fund. A percentage of the endowment fund is spent each year and the goal by 2025 is $2 billion dollars. Harv discussed the importance of education and humanitarian efforts put forth by Rotary International and clubs worldwide. Harv closed his presentation with the current situation of eradicating polio worldwide as being really, really close. The effort by Rotary International will continue until we have total success with absolutely no polio cases being reported in the world.
