District 5050 Co-Chair for Annual Giving & Major Gifts, United States, Steve Morach gave a presentation on October 26th about The Rotary Foundation (TRF). He detailed the history of getting his own Club--Stanwood/Camano Island--to a 100% Paul Harris Fellowship Club. This happened in 2007 and for the past four Rotary Years, his Club has been in the top three in District 5050 of 100% Clubs.

He reminded us that half of money is designated for world projects and the other half is used for local projects within the District. The District can provide matching dollars for local Club projects thereby multiplying dollars within the community. This was evidenced by the presentation last week of money by District 5050 towards the Homeless Students Funding project that our Club completed.

Steve fielded several questions about the Foundation and how the points system works. Points can be used to help others in a Club earn a Paul Harris Fellowship. The Stanwood/Camano Club has done several international projects including a water well in Haiti and a dental clinic in Kenya.

Our Club has 22 Paul Harris Fellows--three short of being a 100% Club! This includes our Honorary Members.
