Rachel Preston, Snohomish County Rotaract founding President 2017 and 11 Country Christian humanitarian backpacking trip partiipant addressed our Club on Friday, May 17th.

Rotaract engages young adults 18-30 years old. Rotaract focus is on service through networking and professional development while enjoying fun and fellowship. There are ten Rotaract Clubs in District 5050 with four in Washington and six in British Columbia. The Rotaract Digest includes the Hands for Peacemaking Foundation. Growing Rotaract includes encouraging dual Membership, promoting youth programs, recognizing youth in our community and being Club aware.

Rachel's presentation also included information on the World Race that she is participating in from June 2019 to April 2020.  11 countries in 11 months. An awesome goal.
Rachel will be traveling from June 4, 2019 to April 29, 2020 as a participant in an organization around-the-world backpacking trip. The program is to inspire Humanitarian Work. She will be teaching English, working with orphans, elderly, refugees and victims of human trafficking.  She will be assisting in natural disaster relief and supporting local partners. Christian discipleship and visiting Rotary Clubs in the 11 countries is on the agenda during her 11 month journey.

The overall cost of the World Race is $19,200 and she is less than $5,000 from her goal.
