Representative Lovick Visits Lake Stevens

 

At our December 30th Meeting, 44th State Legislative District Representative John Lovick, told the members that the upcoming State Legislative session will be one of the hardest ever due to the mandate to fully fund education. The questions are "Where is the money coming from?" "What will we have to give up in order to achieve this goal?" "Will this be accomplished in this session?"

 

Other issues before the Washington State House and Senate include transportation and social services. Lovick thanked Club President Sam Low and Club Member State Senator Steve Hobbs for their service to the public. He also thanked the members for being invested in the community. Lovick serves on the House Education Committee and House Appropriations Committee. Lovick has a long public service career starting with the US Coast Guard. He then served as a Washington State Patrol Trooper and Sergeant. He also served on the Mill Creek City Council, nine years as our State Representative before serving as Snohomish County Sheriff and then Snohomish County Executive.
