Last week, our Club was the beneficiary of two wonderful and noteworthy programs. Diane Demeroutis talked about the Allstate Foundation's involvement in Purple Purse, a program to bring public awareness about domestic violence caused by financial issues. Long term safety is a major part of the campaign. Most of these women have children. One in four women experience domestic violence. Join the Purple Purse Challenge which has been on-going this month from October 1-27th.
Although PurplePurse.com resembles a fashion magazine, if a visitor looks more deeply they will find a safe place that offers information for victims and for those trying to help a friend in need. Purple Purse makes it easier to recognize financial abuse, talk about it and stop it. Hundreds of Allstate agency owners, professional financial representatives and employees have joined the growing Allstate Against Abuse Team - men and women volunteers who play a leadership role as advocates for domestic violence survivors.
