Our guest speaker on Friday, August 22nd at The Buzz Inn was Krissy Davis, Executive Director, Puget Sound Kidney Centers Foundation. Krissy was born and raised in the area. She graduated from Granite Falls High School, married with two adult children.

Krissy was hired in December as the Puget Sound Kidney Centers Foundation Executive Director. She admitted that the role is personal because her husband has kidney disease as does her father-in-law. Last summer, her father-in-law was given a special gift when a friend of his from church donated one of his kidneys to him. He is doing well.

The mission of the Puget Sound Kidney Center (PSKC) is to provide the highest quality care for people with chronic kidney disease. PSKC was founded in 1991 by Dr. Christian Schmitt with help from U.S. Senator Henry M. Jackson.

Currently there are 12 centers in seven counties in the Puget Sound region serving 900 patients with 120,000 dialysis treatment annually. The various programs offered are Dialysis Services, Three modalities, In-center hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, and home peritoneal dialysis All patients receive wrap around care.
